Book Week

On August 21st -25th we celebrate Children’s Book Week with many fun and engaging activities being planned by all year levels throughout the week.
The annual celebration is a much anticipated event that ignites the love of reading among children.

Reading is a crucial lifelong skill that takes us on a journey of imagination, information and entertainment. Reading develops new vocabulary, phonemic awareness and comprehension skills. Exploring books of their choice, teaches children skills to become passionate readers. Book week is one way we can celebrate the wonderful journey our children are taking on the road to becoming proficient readers.

On Wednesday 23rd August it is Australian School Library Day, so please visit our school library and enjoy this wonderful resource and all of the amazing books we have to offer.

On Friday 25th August children are invited to dress up as their favourite book character. Students will participate in a whole school book parade (weather permitting). Children can stay in their costume for the day. This will take place on the basketball courts at 9am -10am and families are invited to watch.

We look forward to this wonderful week of book celebrations.
