At Mount Waverley Primary School, our curriculum is based on the Victorian Curriculum. This sets out what every student should learn during their first eleven years of schooling. The curriculum is broken into Learning Areas (The Arts, The Humanities, Languages, English, Mathematics, Health & Physical Education and Science Technologies) and the Capabilities (Critical and Creative Thinking, Ethical Intercultural and Personal & Social). The curriculum is the common set of knowledge and skills required by students for life-long learning, social development and active and informed citizenship. More information can be found here.
MWPS Instructional Model – The IM was created by the staff at MWPS, looking at current research and best practice in teaching and learning. The elements highlighted are the expectations of how a lesson might run and what is important for staff to use when planning for the learning of students. The IM is regularly audited and adjustments are made when required.
